When you purchase a Lennox high-efficiency air conditioner, furnace and/or heating and air conditioning system, you may qualify for a tax credit of $1,500 or more. With passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, consumers can upgrade to more energy-efficient heating and air conditioning equipment and start saving on energy bills right away, you may also save on your taxes next year.

Unlike a tax deduction, which reduces the amount of income subject to tax, a tax credit reduces the tax itself. The tax credits that apply to qualifying Lennox heating & air conditioning equipment are available for products placed in service starting January 1, 2006.

For qualified improvements, homeowners may be able to claim tax credits equal to 30% of the installed costs (up to $1,500).
